My Generation!

The nursing home where my dad lives offers all sort of activities and programs. A favorite of most of the residents is any type of music. The musicians who come in are wonderful people who get everyone to sing along, clap and smile. I attend frequently and I wonder what it will be like when/if I am in a nursing type residence. Most of the residents really enjoy the Big Band tunes of the 40’s and 50’s. I figure when I’m there that we’ll have aged Mick Jagger look alikes… but we won’t be able to hold up lighters as we would blow the place up due to all the oxygen cannisters…

This week, Ronni Bennett, of Time Goes By introduced me to The Zimmers. “A group of about 40 elders, ranging in age from 78 to 99 and calling themselves The Zimmers, have recorded The Who’s tune, My Generation, at the historic Abbey Road studio in London.” Go to Ronni’s blog Time Goes By to view the video. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
