Not so lonely

It seems like for many of us, April is Diabetes Doldrums Month. I know I’ve been feeling rather exasperated with what I go through, which is zilch, nada compared to others. Parents of children with diabetes are definitely on the top of my most admired list.

I wonder sometimes how parents and even adults with diabetes (and other diseases) coped before the internet. Now, whenever I have a question, I just pop on and find the answers. Well, I know they dealt with it, but I believe they must have felt so very lonely sometimes.

The communities of bloggers and forums allow us to reach out and share our frustrations along with our joys and successes. It’s also a very friendly and encouraging place most times – at least those blogs that I read. I was a “lurker” for the past two years – and now I’m actually blogging. It’s fun, and I’m enjoying the sense of sharing.

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog and the kind comment! What did I do before the internet? Well, I just kept trying new things until I figured out something that works. I have a pretty good person to glean information from (my mom) where diabetes is concerned though, and because of her I never felt alone in diabetes. She has had diabetes for 44 years!

  2. I don’t know what I would’ve done without the internet and all of the information and people I’ve found who can relate to what I’m going through.
